Alison Johnson, Director

I am blessed to be part of the Berry’s Chapel Preschool family. Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3) and I am thankful every day for the opportunity to be a part of the lives of our preschool families.

I was raised in Fayetteville, TN and attended Tennessee Technological University where I received my B.S. degree in civil engineering and more importantly met my husband, Trevor. God has blessed us with two children, Tyler and Rachel.

My family moved to Franklin in 2002 from Kingsport, TN. While my children were younger, I was fortunate to be a “stay-at-home” mom. My passion for working with children led me to Berry’s Chapel Preschool. I began teaching the 4 year old class in 2007, became assistant director in 2011, and director in 2015. My family is part of the Berry’s Chapel Church family.

It is my goal for our preschool parents to know their children are loved here at Berry’s Chapel and for each preschooler to have fun while learning.

Ms. Sonia, Assistant Director & Teacher – PreK1 Class

My name is Sonia Dupay and I am so happy to be a part of the BCPS family! I began teaching PreK1 at Berry’s Chapel Preschool in 1999 and these women I work with are truly my family!

My husband Mark and I have been married for over 25 years and have two daughters Kristen and Bethany. We are all active members of the Berry’s Chapel church of Christ and love working and worshiping here. I am a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. My passion for being a mom, my love of children and my obsession with crafting and using creative teaching techniques makes me so excited about another great year at BCPS!

I have a degree in Elementary Education from MTSU and have received extensive training in working with children with Autism and other developmental delays. My three sons all attended Berry's Chapel Preschool and my grandchildren are continuing the tradition. I love working with the 2's because they are so full of excitement and enthusiasm every day. I look forward to another wonderful year watching these precious children as they grow and mature physically, socially, and mentally. Every day is a new and exciting adventure!

Ms. Sarah, Teacher - 3 Year Old Class

Hi! My name is Sarah Byram and I am thrilled to be part of Berry's Chapel Preschool this year! My husband, Brett, and I have two sons, Andrew and Curtis. Our family moved to the area in 2013 from North Carolina, where I taught fifth grade until the birth of our son. After that, I worked with three, four, and five year-olds at the North Raleigh Church of Christ Preschool in Raleigh, NC. Having worked with elementary-aged students, I know what a wonderful gift it can be for children to have positive, fun, and engaging preschool experiences – experiences that will allow them to enter kindergarten confidently and with excitement! With that in mind, I am so happy and honored to be able to be a part of your little berry’s life this year!

Ms. Cindy, Floater Teacher

My name is Cindy Baxter and I am very excited to be teaching at Berry’s Chapel Preschool this year. I am from Cookeville Tennessee and met my husband, Brandon, while at Tennessee Tech University where I earned a degree in elementary education. Brandon and I were married in 2003 and have lived in the Brentwood and Franklin area since that time. We are members of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and have two children, Matthew and Elizabeth, who attend preschool at Berry’s Chapel.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I taught preschool at High Hopes for two years and have been teaching private piano lessons for over 15 years. It is such a joy to watch children learn, discover, and grow! I look forward to a wonderful year with the Berries.

Ms. Morgan, Teacher - 3 Year Old Class

My name is Morgan Holt and I am thrilled to be working with the 3 year old class this year at Berry’s Chapel. My husband, Dean, and I met at Harding University in Searcy, AR. After graduation, we lived in the Memphis area for 11 years before moving to Franklin in the fall of 2014. We have been married for 12 years and were blessed with three children: Emmersen, Clara, and Canaan. God has continued to answer many prayers for us over our move. We quickly found a church home that we love; Harpeth Hills Church of Christ welcomed us with open arms. Franklin now feels like home to my family. Teaching children that God loves them as they learn and grow is quite a blessing! Looking forward to a great year.

We look forward to helping your children grow and learn in Christ’s love.

My husband and I are both from Virginia, but have been living in Franklin since 2007. I graduated from the University of Virginia, and received my Masters in Middle School Teaching from VA Commonwealth University. I spent several years teaching middle school in Virginia, and in California, and chose to stay home with our three beautiful children after they were born. I fell in love with BCPS as a parent and love it even more as a teacher. I look forward to another exciting year full of arts, crafts, and learning with your child.

Ms. Michelle, Teacher – PreK1 Class

Berry's Chapel Preschool has been a part of my life for over 10 years now! I started out as a parent and soon became a teacher here. I thought I would stay until my children finished preschool; they are now teenagers! So as you can see, Berry's Chapel is a special place to me.
